A breath of fresh air
If you've visited this site before, you might notice that something has changed. It's as if everything's just a marginally brighter, a tad bigger and just a bit more crisp – as if the air is ever so slightly more fresh. Of course, I'm referring to the all new design of the website and the replacement of the old PHP app with a sparkly new ASP.NET MVC site. I have long felt that the previous layout felt both crammed and depressingly dark but as with so many things in life, you never really get around to doing anything about it until you get some sort of kick. For me, the kick was when Scott Hanselman recently updated the design of his own blog, one which I have followed for a long time now. I hope you agree that the new design is an improvement over the old one:
There are still a couple of things I need to work out before the site is fully functional; I'm currently considering where to take the Projects feature from my old site as I feel that it should either be supported by more features or just turned into ordinary articles. This, amongst other things, should be resolved in the coming weeks. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go celebrate cutting my last tie to my PHP legacy!
